What is Lovely?
Lovely is a real estate search tool for renters looking for apartments in the San Francisco Bay Area. We aggregate rental listings from across the web and visually display them on a map in real-time. As soon as new apartment listings become available online, they will automatically appear on the map in Lovely. We also help you with the nitpicky aspects of renting an apartment as well -- so you can get the apartment you want! -- like helping you understand what information is most important to a landlord, which apartments you’ve visited and applied to, and more.
How it Works
When it comes to renting an apartment in San Francisco, it’s all about location. So we start by showing you real-time apartment listing inventory displayed visually on a map. It’s also all about having access to the latest listings from across the web. We communicate time visually with our “Fresh” markers so you always know which listings are newest. You don’t even have to refresh the page to see new listings, they will appear instantly as they become available online.
Finding apartments you like is only half the battle though. Actually getting the apartment you want is just as important in a competitive rental market. So with our Renter Resume, we help you organize all the most important information a landlord will want to see (information you’ll eventually need for your application as well). And when you message a landlord through our system, you can choose to send off the important bits up front like who you’re moving with, when you’re looking to move and whether you have pets. This helps you stand out to landlords and increases the likelihood they’ll respond to your inquiry. You can also look super professional by printing it out and bringing it with you during your in-person property visits.
We’re also doing other cool things like helping you track your favorites as well as which step of the process you’re at for each. Staying organized goes a long way in the ever hectic, stress inducing process of finding an apartment rental in San Francisco. Manifesto
We are a community driven website seeking to help the subset of renters out there who want a visual, map-based experience to conduct their apartment rental search while still having access to all the web’s rental data. We are also looking to help the renters out there who want a few more tools than what is currently offered to guide and help them along the way. We recognize the multitude of stakeholders in the rental industry and no matter what solutions we offer and for whom, it will always be our goal to provide the best experience possible for the overall community of users.
